Home Consultation
Sometimes all you need is a fresh pair of eyes and a little expert guidance.
Whether you’re unsure where to start with a room, struggling to bring colours and materials together, or planning a larger renovation, a home consultation gives us time to talk through your ideas and explore the possibilities.
During our hour together, we’ll focus on your priorities, looking at how your space works, how natural light moves through it, and how colour, furnishings and finishes could bring everything together.
You’ll leave with practical advice, fresh ideas and a clearer sense of what to do next. Afterwards, I’ll send you a written summary of our discussion and a quote for any further design work.
£95
Your consultation fee will be fully deducted from your design fee if you go ahead with your project.
The consultation fee will increase to £125 from 1 February 2027.
The Process
01
Complete the short form below with your contact details, property address and a brief description of your project. Tell me which room or design challenge you’d like help with, so we can make the best use of our time together.
02
I’ll be in touch to arrange a convenient date and confirm the focus of your consultation. Your appointment is confirmed once payment has been received.
03
We’ll spend an hour together in your home, discussing your ideas, priorities and budget. Depending on your needs, we might explore furniture layout, colour palettes, fabrics, wallpaper, finishes and lighting, considering what will work best for your space and lifestyle.
04
After the visit, I’ll send you a written summary of our discussion, highlighting the key recommendations and suggested next steps. If you’d like to take things further, I’ll provide a quote for the design work required. If you go ahead with a design project, your £95 consultation fee will be deducted from your design fee.
Making the Most of Your Hour
To make the most of our time, we’ll agree on the focus of your visit beforehand.
A focused discussion about a single room, exploring layout, colour, lighting, furnishings and finishes according to your priorities.
Perhaps you’re struggling with a colour scheme, choosing fabrics and wallpaper, rethinking a furniture arrangement or finding the right lighting. We’ll concentrate on the decisions you need help with.
If you’re planning a renovation or redesigning several rooms, we can use the hour to discuss your overall vision, budget and priorities, identify the main challenges and establish the scope of the work ahead.
The consultation is intended to provide professional advice and direction rather than a complete design scheme. Detailed measurements, technical drawings, product sourcing and room-by-room specifications would form part of a separate design commission.
Every home is different, and the aim is to help you feel clearer about what is possible and what to do next.
Good to Know
Where I visit
I offer home consultations across North London, including Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Highgate, Hampstead and surrounding areas. I also visit selected locations across Central and West London, including Chelsea and Kensington. Based outside these areas? Get in touch and I’ll let you know if I can visit.
Preparing for your consultation
Before I arrive, have a think about what you’d most like to achieve and any particular questions or decisions you’d like help with. It’s helpful to have inspiration images, photographs or approximate room measurements to hand, if available. This helps us make the most of our hour together.
Colour Confidence clients
If you’ve booked my Colour Confidence package, your home visit is already included, so there’s no additional consultation fee.
Not sure you need a visit?
We can start with a free 15-minute call to discuss your project and decide on the best way forward. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to work from photographs and measurements, my Remote Design service may be a better fit.
